Dunlap Log Homes will provide you with expertise
and support you need for your log home project to be a success.
We will be your advocates throughout your log home project. Our
goal as your log home experts is to make the process of getting
you in your dream home as simple and as smooth as possible.
Design Concept
Our prefered log home company, The Original Lincoln Logs®, has over 150 unique
floor plans you can select from, ranging anywhere from under 400
sq. ft. to 4,000 sq. ft. Many people choose a standard plan and
use it as a starting point - design customizations are welcome.
We also assist with completely custom designs, so bring us your
ideas and sketches. We enjoy seeing what you’ve created!
Blueprints
After we sit down and work out your log home design on paper, we’ll
do a quote estimate. Our customers then get formal “Preliminary”
blueprints from Lincoln’s engineering department. These allow
us to review the design together with formal dimensions and make
any adjustments or changes. Finally, Lincoln’s engineering
department will issue “Final” blueprints that are stamped
specifically for your local building code. No need to find and pay
a 3rd party engineering firm – this service is free to Lincoln’s
customers!
Financing
If you will be financing your home, we can assist you in finding
log-friendly lenders, or even talking to your preferred lender about
log homes. The Original Lincoln Logs also offers a couple of financial
options to support your log home purchase. Don’t forget, it
is important to get “pre qualified” with a lender early
on, so you have a realistic picture of your budget.
Land
After you’ve committed to Dunlap Log Homes, we’d be
happy to walk as many parcels of land as you wish to compare. As
we do so, we’ll discuss home placement / orientation, and
effect on design (changes might be appropriate). A perc test should
be done, and we can discuss the impact and implications of deed
restrictions and applicable building codes. If you have your land
already, fantastic! We’ll want to see it (or least discuss
its features) during the design process.
Building System
The Original Lincoln Logs Stack N Build ® system makes assembling
the log shell simple and straight forward. Details such as notched
(rather than butted) corners coupled with precision milling and
a double tongue and groove help assure a weather-tight fit. Both
a video and detailed construction manual instructions are provided
to guide the builder through the building process. Alternatively,
we offer our panelized ThermoHome ® system for a fully insulated
traditional frame structure with log siding.
Builder
If you have not identified a builder, Dunlap Log Homes can give
you a list of builders in the area or help you look for one. In
addition to being with you on delivery day (we have a travel trailer
for on-site work), we also work with the builder of your choice
(perhaps that’s you!) to do hands-on training as the building
process gets underway. Plus, we’ll be on site periodically
to help with answer questions and issues, and to ensure that the
builder is properly assembling your Lincoln Logs home.
Remember, service after the sale by the dealer
you chose is vital to keep your "dream" from becoming
a "nightmare".
